We believe education is the single most powerful tool to break cycles of poverty. Through our partner organisations, we bring quality learning to the children who need it most — in the remotest corners of India.
In remote Himalayan communities, access to quality education remains a persistent challenge. Geographic isolation, poverty, and lack of resources mean thousands of children — especially girls — are left behind. Without education, cycles of poverty repeat generation after generation.
Elara Foundation's education programmes are designed to interrupt this cycle — by making quality learning accessible, by keeping children in school with nutrition support, and by equipping older youth with the vocational skills they need to build independent livelihoods.
"Every child in school and learning well." — The guiding principle of our education partner, Pratham.
From early childhood through skill development, our three education partners — Pratham, Akshaya Patra, and U.S.R. Indu Samiti — each address a different critical dimension of the education challenge.
Each programme targets a specific barrier to education — and together, they create a continuum of learning from early childhood through to livelihood.
Working with Pratham to bring innovative, community-based teaching methods to children in remote Uttarakhand villages — ensuring foundational literacy and numeracy for every child.

👩🌾 Women's Education · EmpowermentOne of the most inspiring examples of what education can achieve comes from Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand — where a woman born blind overcame every obstacle placed before her. With the support of the Dr. Liladhar Bhatt Memorial Kalyan Samiti, she pursued formal education, excelled in academics and music, mastered IT, and went on to become a Senior Technical Lead at HCL.
Her story is not an exception — it is the vision. Every child supported by our programmes represents a future that could look just like hers.
