A Son's Tribute That Became a Movement
When Shri Rajendra Bhatt decided to honour his father's memory, he chose not flowers or inscriptions — but action. He gathered like-minded individuals from the community and formalised the work his father had informally championed throughout his life.
The Samiti was registered in 2002 and began by focusing on the most immediate needs of Haldwani and the surrounding Kumaon region — education for girls, healthcare access, and support for the elderly. Over time, its scope expanded to encompass women's empowerment, skill development, animal welfare, defence training, and drug rehabilitation.
The partnership with Elara Capital's CSR arm, Elara Foundation, gave the Samiti the resources to scale its work without compromising its soul — ensuring that every decision remains rooted in community, not boardroom. Today, the Samiti is a zero-overhead NGO where 100% of donated funds reach those who need them most.
